Position Title: Detox Supervisor

Location: Lighthouse Mission, Winnipeg, MB

Reports to: Operations Director for Detox

Position Summary

The Detox Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership of the detox program by ensuring continuity of care between shifts, supporting Addiction Support Workers, coordinating participant admissions and transitions, and maintaining consistent communication across the program.

This position bridges front-line operations with administrative responsibilities while helping ensure participants receive safe, compassionate, and coordinated care.

Primary Responsibilities

Clinical & Program Oversight

• Ensure continuity of care between all staff shifts.

• Review and monitor shift reports and participant documentation.

• Provide support and guidance to Addiction Support Workers.

• Monitor participant progress throughout detox.

• Ensure participant safety and program standards are maintained.

Intake & Referrals

• Coordinate participant admissions.

• Complete intake documentation.

• Maintain participant files.

• Coordinate referrals to treatment centres and community agencies.

• Develop and oversee participant discharge planning.

Administration

• Maintain required program documentation.

• Prepare reports for funding and regulatory requirements.

• Monitor occupancy and bed utilization.

• Coordinate communication with external agencies.

• Assist in policy implementation.

Leadership

• Provide day-to-day supervision of program operations.

• Support staff through coaching and mentorship.

• Ensure consistent communication between shifts.

• Assist in staff orientation and ongoing training.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

• Provide coverage for support workers when needed

Additional Responsibilities

Education, Experience and Credentials

• Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Nursing, Addictions, or related field required OR five or more years of directly related leadership experience within addictions, detoxification, shelters, healthcare, or community services.

• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate

• Leadership experience preferred

• Experience coordinating referrals is preferred

• Knowledge of addictions or withdrawal management, trauma informed care, and crisis intervention

• Experience with motivational interviewing considered an asset

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a clear Vulnerable Sector Clearance.
